Family Overnighter at Anantya Resorts

We had an Overnighter to Anantya Resorts, Vaikundam Estate, Balrampuram on this Sunday – 13th October, 2013. We had the presence of Tr Sam, Tr Jithin , Tr Vinnan, Tr Zaheer, Tr Bejoy, Sq Leg Sethu & families.
Started our trip from Tr Zaheer’s house with a sumptuous Eid Lunch and reached the property at 5pm. All of us were amazed seeing the scenic beauty – hills and lake around the property…. Infinity Pool and the view to green hills and Chittar Dam was really a mesmerizing view. We had a good time in pool with twinklers, circlers and Tablers… Had fun with the monkey game, water polo  and watching exciting stunts from Fellowship Convenor Tr Sam – Under water exchange code to be passed upto 3km was new to all… More such fundas will be taught in the next session from Tr Sam. There was a thrilling swimming competition from Tr Jithin and Twinkler Aaron…. Though Aaron won in the first race after 5 times of repeated kick start practice from Tr Jithin, he didn’t give up. Later in the second race he managed to have a draw with Aaron…. Cheers to Tr Jithin for his TVM club Swimming practice daily

Twinklers had an awesome fun in pool, indoor games and later again bathe in water tub in their rooms. All assembled for Bon Fire and Dinner at 8.30 pm. Spend time by chatting and had lot of nonstop fun from all.. No words to say about Tr Jithin’s humor which energized the group…. Once we finished the dinner we all went to the lake side and spend time in the lawn… All lay down in the loan watching the sky and stars…. There our Sq Leg Sethu took over the group and he was in complete action. Sethu taught how to enjoy moon/star watching and how to read the stars..Some of us where lucky to watch the shooting stars and Sethu was lucky enough to watch 4 shooting stars (apparently one was a minnaminughu which flew near to him – Power of Johny walker)… Later under the guidance of Sethu – myself, Vinnan, Sam and Beena had midnight/early morning dip to pool at 3 am… Need to mention that was an amazing experience in the pool in the chilling night.. few managed to have their own way of warming  their body with johny in hand.

All had a good sleep in the night, Tr Zaheer was moving around the property, Lake area at 5.30 am looking for rare views and photo shoots… He had a early morning dip with twinklers and later we all join for the b/f. After the late night fun all were sober down in the morning. We went to Lake side to explore Alligators, to get some Vitamin D (Sun Burn), Plantation Tour and also to Base Camp. Ladies under the guidance of Cr Beena and Cr Sumy had Photo sessions  … Came back for the Chinese Lunch and had a long chit chat session at dining place.. Later all had a quick nap and started back to TVM.
Over all it was an Awesome Over Nighter and all had a deadly break. Tblrs suggested to have such short breaks in more often which will increase fun/ relaxation/bonding and so on.. let us all try stick to the same as the time comes.
Special Thanks to Tr Zaheer for arranging this Resort and negotiating for a Complimentary stay in this new property… Hope he will continue negotiate for the food bill..hmmmm… Great Going Fellow Ship Convenor – Tr Sam for conducting the Over Nighter with a good attendance..

Those missed this time don’t worry, Tr Sam organizing for more fun in coming months..

Onam Social & Charter Day Celebrations

At the outset let me once again wish each one of you Happy Onam and 33rd Happy Charter day.
Tablers and Circlers decided to celebrate the Charter Day along with Onam Social. HTs, Tblrs got together, planned and invited almost 30 Sq Legs for the function.  Almost 15 Sq Legs with family and 11 Tblrs   had turned up and had a great time at Hotel Capital. The highlight of the day was the fun each of us had with families.

Kudos to Twinklers Reshma, Ambika, Diya, Manika, Ishita, Abigail for the stunning Dance performance and mind blowing coordination. From Circlers Reenu, Sherin, Nimisha, Sunu, Gayatri, Beena, Lekshmy and Sumy entertained the crowd with a lovely and popular onam Song which pulled the crowd. Tr Sabari’s solo performance made the crowd shake and each of them cheered the gifted singer. Tr Sabari’s singing was so entertaining that Tablers demanded an encore even after he left the stage.

Area Chairman Sridhar addressed the gathering and conveyed greetings to all. Later Area Honaray Tabler Vijay Kumar shared his experiences and how tabling can make our life better. From there many Sq Leg and Circlers had come forward and shared their experiences and expressed how much they miss their tabling life. Some of them encouraged tblrs to actively participate in all facets of tabling and  expressed their love/ gratitude/ bonding to fellow tablers. Past HT Balagopal C, IAS (Retd) talked about his recently written book and gave autograph to all who bought book during the day.  After the delicious Onam Sadhya all were set to travel to Kattaikonam to do a Community service project by giving away utensils to school and a Go Green initiative of planting 10 trees in the school, where a total of 100 trees will be planted during the year. Area Chairman Sridhar had planted the first tree along with the Twinklers and remaining 9 was followed by all fellow tblrs, Circlers and Twinklers.  10 Tblrs, 3 Sq Legs with families were present with Area Chairman for the grand function

Chairman's Report - AGM 2013

One of my favorite stories is that of Mr. Drew Dudley, a Torronto based leadership Guru

On his first last day of college a girl walked up to him and said. ‘I have never spoken to you in your last four years, but I heard you were leaving and I had to come and tell you, you had a profound influence in my life. When I came to join here, I was more or less sure that this was not for me. As my parents were sure to support me, I turned back to tell them that I wanted to go back. At this moment you walked into the room wearing the stupidest hat I have ever seen, carrying a bucket of lollipops, handing them out to the new joinees and soliciting their support for your charitable organization. As you reached me, you stopped, stared for a moment, stepped over to the guy next to me. You handed a lollipop to him and asked him to give the  to the beautiful girl standing next to him. He  sheepishly did so, being completely embarrassed and unable to do anything else. At that moment I knew that I could do this, that I belonged, I changed my decision’.

A few years later Mr. Drew went for the wedding of this lady. She was getting married to the guy who sheepishly handed over the lollipop.

While we always think of heroism or leadership as changing the world,  of recognition or achievements that are larger than ourselves, the simple fact that it is as simple as making a difference in one life. Heroism is more in our grasp than we make ourselves believe it is. Today as this tabling year comes to a close we celebrate the heroism of each and every one of our tablers.

We celebrate the heroism of our fellowship convener Tr. Joseph Mohan who put in all his efforts to keep strong the bonds of theTable, who filled the year with fellowship activities and made sure that the theme I set for the year “We Are One” was fulfilled.

We celebrate the heroism of Tr. Sabari who touched many lives with his deep involvement in the projects. An involvement that gives us much hope for the future of TRT 66.

We celebrate the heroism of our Immediate Past Chairman Tr. Sundheep who through his vibrant efforts have brought in various recognitions to our table.

We celebrate the heroism of Tr. Swaroop whose active participation in every meeting inspired himself and others to take up responsibilities in our Table.

We celebrate the heroism of Tr. Ajith who brought the Table together on the by-laws and bringing extensions to the table to ensure the continuity of the movement.

We celebrate the heroism of Trs. Abhimanyu, Hemanth, Sreeji & Vinan for supporting the movement in every way they could.

We celebrate the heroism of our Honorary Tablers, Aiyappan & Sreekumar or Murali & Sethu as they are fondly called for their guidance and their efforts in increasing the bonding of Table.

We celebrate the heroism of Tr. Jithin & Tr. Sam who has decided to make a difference by joining this movement.

We celebrate the heroism of our Secretary Tr. Bejoy not only put in great efforts for the unity and the bonding of the table, but for continuing to do so by taking up the chairmanship for the coming year.

We celebrate the heroism of the Ladies Circle for being the pillars of strength for the movement and for inspiring us with a multitude of events.

Most importantly, We celebrate the heroism of our families for changing our lives through their support, encouragement and love.

I thank you all for your heroism and I wish the incoming team the very best.

In the Spirit of Friendship

Friendship week demands the our fortnightly social to be in the spirit of friendship. Tr. Secretary Ajith Mathew and wife Sara (Reshmi) hosted their social at Residency Towers with the theme Friendship. With friendship bands accompanying the welcome drink and an HRD/Fellowship session, Circle of Fellowship, aligned to the theme, friendship was at a real high.

The meeting involved the discussion of plans for the year by all the conveners. And from the discussions it looks like we are going to have an eventful year ahead.

The Circle of involved everyone picking up two names out of a bowl and writing a good note about them. This was collected then read aloud randomly and anonymously.

We may not know who wrote them. However, most of the ladies writing about their peers tried their best to be politically correct. The men however had no such inhibitions. Of the whole lot here are a few highlighted opinions we could not but mention.

Sethu: Gets into his elements after 3 pegs, so don't serve move than 3 drinks
Neena: N-Naughty, E-Enthusiastic, E-Energetic, N-Neat, A-Adorable
Swaroop: Body Builder On Liquid Diet
Sunu: She's the most absent minded circler
Sethu: Doesn't know how to a cellphone, laptop or digital camera; but he's perhaps the nicest guy in TRT 66
Nandita: Quiet & Smiling. Makes you wonder what goes on behind the smile. Makes you want to get to know U better
Mahesh: Daddy Cool
Murali: My Best (Drinking) Partner
Sundheep: Still not clear where he did his BDS

And saving the best for last.

Abhi: He has a great store with very nice products.

Behind the Scenes

All of us contributed our bit for the AGM, in our our own special ways.
And we all had fun in the process.
Whether it was in preparing the Secretary's Report or singing the group song.
Here are a few shots of the process.
